Veterans of football paid tribute to the memory of the deceased
On the eve of Victory Day, on May 3, veterans of national football laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexandrovsky Garden.
Leaders of the football federation, legendary domestic football players and widows of the glorified players of the past attended this traditional event organized by FUR.
Memory of the soldiers was honored by Nikita Simonyan, Alexander Mirzoyan, Valery Reingold, Vladimir Pilgui, Alexander Averianov, Mikhail Skokov, Viktor Papaev, Oleg Sokolov, Sergey Olshansky, Anzor Kavazashvili and many other honored veterans. Besides, Valentin Yashin, Galina Sevidova, Olga Ivakina, Lyubov Khusainova, Elena Bobrova, Galina Isayeva, as well as Nikolay Starostin’s daughter Elena, paid tribute to the perished ones.
After laying the wreaths, the veterans of football in a warm atmosphere remembered the times when they themselves had opportunity to go out on the playing field, and also discussed the realities of modern football and made a collective photo.
